Zakir Nuriyev

Nuriyev Zakir Alibala was born on October 02, 1960 in Kurdamir region.

In 1981, he graduated from "Accounting" faculty of Azerbaijan State University of Economics.

He started his career in 1981 as the Leading Accountant in the "Control and Inspection" Department of the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 1983-1989, he worked as the Auditor, Chief Inspector and Deputy Chief Accountant in the “Control-Inspection” Department of the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In 1989, he was appointed as the Chief of the "Control and Accounting" Department of the "Regional Communications" Production Association of the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In 1993, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Management Board of Rabitabank OJSC and worked there until 1998. From 1998 to present, he is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Bank.

In 1996, he was elected President of the Azerbaijan Banks Association and served in that position until 2006. From 2006 to 2015, he was a member of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan Banks Association. In 2015, he was re-elected President of the Azerbaijan Banks Association.
