Changes to Card-to-Card Transfers for Rabitabank Customers
In line with new requirements aimed at enhancing security and transparency in digital payments, certain changes to the rules governing card transactions came into effect on August 1, 2026. In accordance with these requirements, Rabitabank is introducing new functionality for card-to-card (C2C) transfers through its mobile application.
Under the changes, customers making C2C transfers through the Rabita Mobile application are required to specify the purpose of the transaction. Three options are available in the application:
- Purchase of goods
- Purchase of services
- Personal and other transfers
If “Personal and other transfers” is selected, the customer must enter a brief description of the purpose of the transfer containing at least 10 characters. The new functionality is designed to enable more accurate identification of transfer purposes, enhance transaction transparency, and strengthen security within the digital payments environment.
It should be noted that no general ban or restriction is being imposed on card-to-card money transfers. Restrictions on incoming transactions involving payment instruments are determined by banks and electronic money institutions based on a risk-based approach. Under the applicable approach, a maximum of 5 transactions per day is предусмотрено for card inflows and card-to-card transfers. At the same time, no limit has been set on the total daily transaction amount, while the total amount of card-to-card transfers is subject to a monthly limit of AZN 20,000.
Payment instrument users may continue to carry out outgoing transactions using their payment instruments as before. At the same time, incoming transactions between an individual’s own accounts, as well as incoming transactions made by close relatives, are not subject to the above-mentioned restrictions.
